10Gig End to End: Experiences and Ideas
Time 04/19/11 12:00PM-01:00PM
Session Abstract
Enabling 10Gig to the desktop is often high on the list of demands for extreme power users. However, affordable 10G on the desktop is coming to motherboards within the next year and it is inevitable that demand for 10Gig end to end will well up among a wider class of users. It's important that the community understand the obstacles that will be faced when meeting that demand.
This BOF will focus on the experiences of organizations that have deployed 10Gig to the desktop, the infrastructure needs, and tools for performance diagnostics. The new Web10Gig kernel, the successor to the highly successful Web100 kernel, will also be introduced.
Attendee participation is strongly encouraged. Please bring your questions, thoughts, experiences, and ideas with you. Short 5 minute presentations are welcome - please bring them on a flash drive to use on the podium laptop.
