The Global Environment for Network Innovations (GENI) is a unique virtual laboratory that will support at-scale experimentation on shared, heterogeneous, instrumented infrastructure; enable programmability throughout the network, and provide collaborative and exploratory environments for academia, industry and the public. GENI exists as an end-to-end meso-scale infrastructure suite, which Internet2 generously supports and actively participates. We provide an update on current acitivities which includes continued development of architecture, tools, and services enabling experiment instrumentation, a movement towards interoperability across GENI prototypes, and improved approaches towards researcher identity management.
