Grafting US Forest Service Research Sites onto the Internet2 Infrastructure
Time 04/19/11 03:00PM-04:00PM
The US Forest Service has initiated a pilot project to establish high speed connections (1Gb-10Gb) to link selected USFS research labs into the Internet2 infrastructure. One part of the pilot connects two research labs in Missoula, MT, which are over 400 miles from the nearest I2 access point, using the University of Montana's Northern Tier connections. The presentation will outline the connection topology and issues that remain to be resolved by UM and the USFS.
