Data Movement Requirements for Research

Time 04/19/11 08:45AM-10:00AM

Session Abstract

Scientific innovation and collaboration continue to exercise the nation's R&E networks. Data intensive applications, from worldwide experiments such as the LHC, are increasing utilization and placing an emphasis on connectivity and traffic engineering strategies to manage operations. This panel will feature scientists and experts from the scientific community to discuss data movement requirements for future experiments and what campus and regional operators can expect in the future. Engineers from Campus, Regional, and Backbone networks will be on hand to discuss architectural considerations and future plans to help cope with demand.
