The Voice of Conscience : 52,000 Holocaust Survivors Tell Their Story.
In 1994 Steven Spielberg was on the set of Schindlers List, as were several Holocaust survivors who were there as historical advisors. One of them approached him and said that she did not want to just tell him about one day of her experience, but she wanted to tell her whole story. Out of that conversation Steven Spielberg set out to interview as many survivors and witnesses of the Holocaust as wanted to speak. 52,000 survivors in 56 countries speaking in 32 languages gave their life histories. Today the video archive is housed at the USC Shoah Foundation Institute and is available via Internet2. Come and learn about this remarkable content resource, and how to access and incorporate this collection for teaching and learning purposes.
