Ethernet Protection Approaches
Time 10/04/11 04:30PM-05:30PM
Recent advances in Ethernet have enabled it to transition from a subnetwork technology to a network technology. One of the attributes of network technology is the ability to provide for fully protected Ethernet circuits within a network for some applications. This session will examine several different techniques for providing Ethernet protection, all of which are covered by various standards. Linear, ring, and mesh protection of circuits based on ITU standards will be described by the panelists, other protection approaches will also be discussed.
