Time 11/02/10 12:00PM-01:00PM

Session Abstract

Slowly Internet2 is finding its way into K-12 classrooms. Who is using it? How is it being used? This BoF is for discussion related to connectivity and content. Specifically, how does Internet2 support teaching and learning in K-12 and K-20 classrooms and what are the trials and tribulations for physically connecting schools to Internet2. There will also be a discussion centered around the reasons why schools are adopting this technology and why some schools not so inclined especially in light of the Partnership for the 21st Century and The Digital Promise Project studies.

The goal of the discussions is for attendees to walk away with specific examples of K-12 and K-20 classroom use of Internet2 that can be used in discussions with schools to demonstrate how connectivity to Internet2 enables student-centric learning that supports 21st Century skill development.
