Shibboleth and other Challenges in Integrating with a Vendor Application
Time 11/03/10 01:15PM-02:30PM
Session Abstract
This session will provide two perspectives on Shibbolizing and other challenges in integrating with vendor applications. In the first half of the session, Parviz Dousti will review Carnegie Mellon's experience and lessons learned in authentication and SSO, authorization, UI integration, and workflow when integrating an accounts receivable service into an existing student information system. In the second half of the session, Andrew Petro will discuss a minimally-invasive architecture for integrating existing enterprise applications with a Shibboleth Service Provider by leveraging other services that these applications already support, like SSO and LDAP, taking as a case study of the Workforce Retraining Initiative system Unicon built with Cisco for the state of Michigan using this approach.
