Creating the SC09 Measurement Infractructure
Time 02/02/10 02:20PM-02:40PM
SC09 featured both a high-performance production-quality network and an extremely high performance experimental network. Volunteers from educational institutions, high performance computing sites, network OEMs, research networks, and telecommunications carriers worked together to design and deliver the SC09 networks. OEMs and carriers donated much of the equipment and services needed to build the LAN and WAN infrastructure. Planning began more than a year in advance of the SC Conference and culminated with a high-intensity installation just seven days before the Conference began. This presentation will provide an overview of the measurement infrastructure deployed to support the SC09 networks, including discussions of the performance metrics collected, the tools deployed to measure the performance metrics and the graphical interfaces used to make that information available to both the SC09 network engineers as well as the general public.
