Data Intensive Network

Time 04/28/09 03:00PM-04:00PM

Session Abstract

We propose that Internet2 member universities design and implement a Data Intensive Network as part of their campus networking. This DIN is engineered to make design choices optimized for supporting very high-performance data flows for a small number of campus cyberinfrastructure resources. The goal is to ensure that performance of data flows between such cyberinfrastructure resources is excellent, and to do so in a cost-effective way that does not threaten the security or cost-effectiveness of the general campus network.
