Dr. Barbara M. Alving is the Director of the National Center for Research Resources (NCRR) at the National Institutes of Health. NCRR provides laboratory scientists and clinical researchers with the environments and tools they need to understand, detect, treat, and prevent a wide range of common and rare diseases. Dr. Alving will provide an overview of the work of NCRR and how advanced networking can play a role in bringing researchers, health professionals, and patients together to solve problems and to advance healthcare and health research in the U.S.
