Building Distributed Clouds
Time 04/29/09 08:45AM-10:00AM
In this panel discussion three speakers representing Force10, Verizon Business, and ADVA Optical Networking will present several different aspects of a current hot trend in computing: cloud computing.
According to Wikipedia, "Cloud computing is a style of computing in which dynamically scalable and often virtualized resources are provided as a service over the Internet."
Each speaker will discuss aspects of this technology from a unique perspective.
Force10 will discuss the technology drivers emerging trends and best practices in building and managing virtualized data centers that are becoming the building blocks for internal and external Clouds. Force10 examines how you benchmark applications that have been virtualized and the tools you have to help you troubleshoot performance.
Verizon Business will discuss the data center selection process starting with Collocation following the progression through the entire continuum of Managed Hosting, Processing, Computing as a Service, and building your own Data Center and the impact of Cloud technology on these decisions.
ADVA Optical Networking complements Force 10 and Verizon Business who are working hard to extend the scope of their tools out of the single-site data centers and into the cloud, allowing internetworking between clouds and between user
