REN-ISAC BoF

Time 04/23/07 03:00PM-04:30PM

Session Abstract

The REN-ISAC is an integral part of U.S. higher education's strategy to
improve network security through information collection, analysis,
dissemination, early warning, and response. It is specifically designed to
support the unique environment and needs of higher education and research
organizations, and supports efforts to protect national cyber infrastructure
by participating in the formal U.S. ISAC structure. Foremost, REN-ISAC is a
member-driven trusted community for sharing sensitive information regarding
cybersecurity threat, incidents, response, and protection.

This open BoF will provide an introductory opportunity for individuals who
wish to learn more or seek membership in the REN-ISAC organization, and will
provide opportunity for existing REN-ISAC members to meet one another and to
initiate discussions on common interests and concern. We anticipate
discussion on matters of recent activity, including but not limited to
vendor relationships, Shared Darknet Project, RENOIR, malware sandbox, and
Executive Advisory Group deliberations.
