Federated Wireless Network Authentication (FWNA)
Time 04/25/06 04:30PM-05:30PM
Even as Wireless LANs are becoming more secure, less flexibility is left for visitors, such as roaming professors, staff and students. An international community has put together infrastructure to facilitate the roaming of users between R&E institutions, called EDUROAM (www.eduroam.org).
Internet2 has joined the effort with the FWNA experiment. Top-level national servers have already been established and institutions are beginning to connect. The FWNA experiment will be running for the next several months to determine the feasibility of expanding Eduroam to the US.
