Unique Approaches to Interactive Content for K20
Time 12/06/06 04:30PM-05:30PM
Session Abstract
Developing valuable programs and opportunities for K20 classrooms on limited budgets and with pressures of standardized testing and NCLB takes time and creativity. Learn how MAGPI has developed partnerships with publishers, cultural institutions, professionals, and non-profit entities to deliver exciting content and experiences live via IP video. This session includes a short presentation on strategies for developing engaging multi-site educational programming and discussion with several of MAGPI's content partners. Come hear how MAGPI has forged successful partnerships with NASA, The Franklin Institute and The Gerda and Kurt Klein Foundation. Representatives from each of these organizations will talk about their ongoing collaborative projects with MAGPI, including distributed learning experiences with NASA's "Space Weather Action Center," a joint MAGPI-Franklin Institute-NASA project that connects educators with NASA scientists for real-time interaction and data visualization, and an international service-learning and Holocaust education program that includes real-time interactions with Holocaust survivor, Gerda Weissmann Klein.
