Evolution of Methods to Enhance Application Performance over High-Speed Networks

Time 12/05/06 03:00PM-04:00PM

Session Abstract

This session will report on interesting developments with respect to deploying applications and services over Internet 2 such as digital video conferencing, high-speed FTP, shared storage or home gateways. Descriptions of how these technologies have evolved trough experimentation over Internet2 and how they will adapt to next generation changes are sought. For example, descriptions of experiences with using transport protocol enhancements, either by software or hardware (e.g., Fujitsu Comet technology) are of interest. Presentations that incorporate technology demonstrations, that provide different perspectives or cross-discipline experiences, and presentations that talk about collaborations between and among members are encouraged.
