Gaming at the Speed of Light: A Panel on Networked Educational Gaming using Internet2

Time 12/06/06 08:45AM-10:00AM

Session Abstract

While current educational games do not currently make regular use of advanced networking, efforts are under development at various organizations that have a great potential to be expanded in this direction. Especially in combination with virtual reality developments, players can communicate, collaborate, and compete in a distributed yet cohesive environment. This panel discussion sponsored by the T&L SIG/K20 Initiative will consider the rise of educational gaming and the potential role of advanced networking in networked multiplayer learning environments.
