Time 09/20/05 01:15PM-02:30PM

Session Abstract

Utilizing advanced networking features such as multicast over Internet2; the OSTN IP Television System focuses on aggregating and delivering rich media to college faculty, students and staff in a campus environment. The OSTN IP Television System provides premium network programming and video on-demand (VoD) that deliver compelling entertainment and academic content to students' PCs and legacy cable systems via Internet2. Leveraging the bandwidth and QoS of Internet2's Abeline network allows for the multicasting of Standard and High Definition Television, Movies, Classroom Assets and Student-Produced programming to, potentially, every Internet2 member institution.
