ResearchChannel/Internet2 Working Group
Time 04/20/04 04:00PM-05:30PM
The Internet2/ResearchChannel Working Group provides a testbed for the exploration of high-quality demand and streaming video applications across Internet2 and NGI backbones, gigapops and associated campus networks. The Working Group brings together a substantial repository of high-quality TV, HDTV and film-like content, working partnerships with key technology innovators, and experience and expertise in advanced networking infrastructure, to achieve the critical mass and momentum required to stimulate, develop, test and evolve the next generation of related
architectures, tools, models and leading-edge implementations.
This session of the working group will focus on the projects currently in work, including many multicast projects around the world, streaming HD to
the desktop, low latency/high quality videoconferencing projects and the latest in DVTS development, including a demonstration during the meeting.
The Working Group is open to all with interests in high quality video creation and distribution.
