Effective Security Practices: Present and Future

Time 04/20/04 01:15PM-02:30PM

Session Abstract

The Effective Security Practices Guide (www.educause.edu/security/guide) provides practical approaches to preventing, detecting, and responding to security problems in a wide range of higher education environments. There is also a growing need for consistent architectural approaches and ongoing research that addresses the challenges of advanced, computational environments. This presentation will explore topics for which effective security practices and solutions are available, including email and spam, and areas where further research and development is needed for high performance networks.
