Peter KukolORG Microsoft Research Title BIO Peter Kukol works in Microsoft's Bay Area Research Center (BARC) on disk/network performance and issues related to large scientific databases. Prior to moving to the BARC group he worked as an architect on the SQL Server database (focusing on XML), the .NET runtime (mainly IL/JIT technologies), VJ/VB/other compilers, and other tool and database-related projects. Before joining Microsoft in early 1995, he was a principal engineer at Borland International where (over a period of 8 years) he authored most of the C++ compiler/optimizer and many other programming tools.
