Middleware: Authorizations, Pioneering Efforts

As other components of a middleware infrastructure take shape, such as authentication and directories, campuses and corporations are beginning to think about the viability of authorization services. Two institutions MIT and Stanford - are most notable in their pioneering work in enterprise-wide authorization and will discuss their efforts in this session. Topics include architectural models, implementations, interactions with legacy systems, results to date, and a map of the interesting issues that have emerged.
