Advanced Applications: Distributed Storage for Digital Libraries
Time 10/03/01 10:30AM-11:45AM
The I2-DSI project has reached two milestones: the development of automated tools to enable wide participation by member campuses and the involvement of important members of the Digital Library community. In this session we hope to update the membership on the current state and direction of I2-DSI, to describe the new tools and procedures for participation, and to give a platform for participants from the Digital Library community to talk about the value of distributed storage to their own projects and its long-term importance as an enabling technology. Of the presentation time, perhaps half will be devoted to I2-DSI (onsite), with the remaining half to be shared among the DL participants (remote). This session is intended to help generate interest in participation in a later meeting of the Network Storage Working Group.
